Fingal Ethnic Network (FEN) was established by the Fingal Co. Community Office in 2006. This is a network of ethnic groups and nationalities living in the Fingal Area. It promotes awareness of issues relevant to the ethnic population of the county.
FEN aims to provide a forum where diverse groups can speak as one recognized voice on matters relating to their well-being in Fingal. FEN helps to promote ways of integrating effectively in the community.
A pivotal role for FEN is to maintain its current local links, whether this is through engagement with other Networks or through its membership organisations. It is likely that FEN will bring a new way of delivering a community voice and a fresh approach to engagement with local communities. However it is only by maintaining a strong regional to local conduit that the voice of ethnic minorities will continue to be heard. Allowing a gap to develop will only result in a dilution of its intensity and FEN must strive to ensure this does not occur.
With the assistance of our members and the wider ethnic community, we can deliver a support service which enhances ethnic minority commitment with the support of all council department, that are vibrant, articulate, inclusive and sustainable contributing to a prosperous, equitable, peaceful and stable Fingal County Society.
